State Government is characterized by its Massive Red Ink
Illinois has a 9.5% corporate tax rate, one of the largest in the nation. This tax rate, along with notoriously negative business climate, has already pulled a number of companies outside of Illinois…and there will be more – soon.
Contributing to the mass exodus from Illinois by its citizens has been the recent increase in the State income tax of more than 66% - from 3% to 5%.
Illinois has the third largest workers compensation costs in the nation, with an average worker compensation claim of $26,000, while the closest Midwestern state was nearly $5,000 less.
Illinois Predicted to be 50th - dead last - In Job Growth for 2014. Moody's Analytics predicting state's payroll job numbers will only grow 0.98%, an increase of only 57,000 jobs.

Decatur now suffering highest unemployment rate in the state at 12.7%
Illinois' unpaid bills approximately $9 Billion at the end of 2013
$186 million Illinois paid in interest payments for unpaid bills in fiscal year 2013. That is 215 times the $866,000 in interest payments paid in fiscal year 2003.
Illinois hands out $266 million in improper unemployment insurance payments
